Our Strategic Research Architecture

Delivery & Activation

Research delivered as executive-ready documents, live briefings, or interactive workshops depending on client need. Post-delivery support included for 30 days on all engagements.

Analytical Synthesis

Proprietary frameworks including the Borron SRI™, competitive force mapping, and scenario matrix construction translate raw data into structured insight. All conclusions are rated for confidence and materiality.

Framing & Scoping

Every engagement begins with a rigorous definition of the intelligence requirement. We map the decision to be made, the information threshold required, and create a structural hypotheses before any research begins.

Primary Intelligence Collection

Expert interviews, practitioner conversations, and structured communication of knowledge that does not appear in public sources. Typically 15–40 primary sources per engagement, rigorously screened for bias and relevance.

Secondary Research Synthesis

Proprietary databases, regulatory filings, patent landscapes, financial disclosures, and specialist press triangulated against primary findings. We surface signal from noise at scale.

What is the Current and Projected Trend of Your Business?

Professional sport teams, insurance companies, investors, medical research, political parties and many others look for trends and patterns to gain an advantage, a solution, or find a problem. Why not discover your's and accelerate your business?

Small and medium-sized businesses (SMB) operate in fiercely competitive markets where the ability to differentiate is everything. The evidence is now unambiguous: SMBs that make data a strategic priority consistently outperform those that don't — and the performance gap between them is accelerating.

A recent S&P Market Intelligence study commissioned by Amazon Web Services (https://aws.amazon.com/blogs/smb/data-driven-smbs-financially-outperform-their-competitors-and-the-gap-is-widening/) quantified exactly how significant that gap is.

The Performance Gap Is Striking

65 percent of highly data-driven SMBs financially outperform their competitors — nearly twice the rate of less data-driven peers. The advantage extends across every key business outcome. Data-driven SMBs are roughly twice as likely to report positive impact in customer satisfaction, revenue growth, process efficiency, marketing effectiveness, cost reduction, and risk management.

The message is clear: decisions made from evidence consistently outperform decisions made from intuition.

Data Maturity Is the Differentiator

Not all data strategies are equal. SMBs with a mature, comprehensive data strategy financially outperform competitors at a rate of 60 percent — compared to just 24 percent of those still in early stages. A mature data strategy also builds a data-driven organizational culture, strengthens governance and compliance, and enables more accurate forecasting and customer segmentation.

The level of value an SMB extracts from its data correlates directly to how seriously it treats data as a strategic asset.

AI Amplifies What Data Maturity Already Built

Highly data-driven SMBs adopt AI at twice the rate of less data-driven competitors — and they extract approximately 30 percent more value from it. That's because AI is only as powerful as the data quality behind it. SMBs rushing toward AI implementation without a solid data foundation are building on unstable ground.

Data-driven SMBs are already using AI to automate security threat detection, enhance marketing personalization, accelerate content creation, and improve customer experience — with 48 to 57 percent reporting moderate to high positive impact across those areas.

The Opportunity Most SMBs Are Missing

Despite the quantifiable competitive advantage, only 19 percent of SMBs currently consider themselves highly data-driven. That means the vast majority are leaving measurable performance gains on the table while their data-mature competitors pull further ahead.

The barrier to entry has never been lower. Cloud infrastructure, modern data tools, and accessible analytics platforms have made comprehensive data strategies achievable for businesses of any size.

The Bottom Line

Data maturity is not a technology project — it is a competitive strategy. SMBs that invest in becoming genuinely data-driven position themselves to outperform peers, serve customers better, reduce risk, and extract maximum value from emerging technologies like AI.

The window to build that advantage is open. But it won't stay open indefinitely.
